The Story of Brother Yousaf Masih and His Family – A Cry for Freedom

Today, we stood beside Brother Yousaf Masih and his family at a brick kiln — seven souls living and working together in unbearable conditions.
For ten long years, this family has known only the heat of the kiln and the weight of endless debt.

“My name is Yousaf Masih,” he began softly, “we have five children — all of us work here. We start before sunrise and end close to midnight. There’s no clean water, no medicine, no rest. We do everything on our own. Our children don’t go to school — they make bricks with us.”

When asked how they became trapped, Yousaf shared that years ago, his father took a small loan of 20,000 rupees (about $73) for medical treatment when he fell ill. His father passed away in this slavery — and the debt grew instead of ending.
Now, the family owes 145,000 rupees (around $515) — an impossible amount for laborers who earn barely enough to eat.

During the rainy season, their work stops, but the debt remains. Sometimes it even increases as they borrow again just to buy food. Day after day, brick after brick, they try to survive.

Yet through it all, Yousaf’s faith stands firm.
He said with tears in his eyes, “Yes, I have accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior. I just want freedom — not for myself, but for my children. I don’t want them to suffer the same fate. I want them to be educated and free.”

Brother Yousaf’s words still echo in our hearts:

“Please help us to get freedom as soon as possible — help us in Jesus’ name.”

But there is hope.

We have the opportunity to set this family free by paying off their debt and providing them with a safe home, clean water, and education for their children. The total amount needed to break their chains is 145,000 PKR ($515) — the price of freedom for seven lives.

You can be part of this miracle.
Your gift, no matter how small, can help rewrite their story — from slavery to freedom, from despair to hope, from darkness to light.

Let’s free Brother Yousaf’s family — together, in Jesus’ name.
